Thrilled to announce the world premiere of “North Star” for string quartet next February 11th at The Phillips Collection in Washington DC, performed by one of the finest chamber ensembles of our time, the American String Quartet! I am very honored to be part of this very special evening created by Robin Strongin, whose writings will be read by Dr. Kavita Patel, and which includes also a newly commissioned painting by Daniel A. Foley Cordero, all of it aimed to raise awareness and encourage further research on Lewy Body Dementia, a devastating form of progressive dementia.

This was an amazing night bringing awareness to Lewy Body Dementia. This project was one year in the making and created by the amazing Robin Strongin. Congratulations to Octavio Vazquez on the world premier of his moving composition for string quartet, performed perfectly by the American String Quartet. The poetry and writings by Robin brought the evening and the music together. Daniel Alejandro Foley incredible painting that I’ve watched come to life over the past year completed an unforgettable evening. It was great to be back in DC and to see good friends and colleagues. –Anthony Marotta
